Our Services

Kumbe biodiversity has started in 2024 with pilot sites in Tanzania.

All services will be available in 2025, starting with camera traps and eDNA.

Kumbe offers a wide range of services. All executed on site, with local people. All services can be chosen and combined based on your needs. For more information and prices, contact us.

  • We take all work out of your hands. You provide us with the details of the area in which you require biodiversity monitoring. We will provide you with the following:

    • a plan (what; when; where and how to measure)

    • perform the monitoring on the ground

    • process and analyse the data locally

    • deliver the results in the format you require

  • Environmental DNA analysis is a new and innovative technology in monitoring. Its advantages are:

    • minimal disturbance

    • High Sensitivity. Capable of detecting low-abundance or rare species that might be missed by traditional survey methods.

    • Efficiency. It allows for the rapid and large-scale assessment of biodiversity, saving time and resources compared to traditional field surveys.

  • There are several reasons to use camera traps to measure biodiversity.

    • minimal disturbance

    • 24/7 monitoring, including capturing of nocturnal and rare species

    • cost effectivenes

  • Bioacoustics or sound sensors have the following benefits in measuring biodiversity:

    • minimal disturbance

    • 24/7 monitoring including capturing of nocturnal and small species

    • cost effective

    • monitoring of large and remote areas

  • There is no use in protecting nature areas when it is not done in collaboration with the people living there. Therefore sensitisation workshops are provided to explain the goals of the biodiversity monitoring but also the opportunities it gives to the communities.

  • In many cases the traditional monitoring methods are very useful, especially when used in combination with the more innovative technologies. Kumbe service include:

    • Transect

    • Sherman traps

    • Mist netting

    • Insect traps (e.g. Malaise trap)

    • Botanical assessments
