KUMBE

Biodiversity Monitoring

Kumbe provides your organisation transparent and innovative solutions for biodiversity monitoring. Delivered on-site and by local communities.

Our Services

Our services range from the monitoring design to the execution of the plan with camera traps, sound sensors and (e)DNA. Results are delivered in a report which fits your needs.

Academy

As our services are offered locally, they are scalable and affordable. At Kumbe academy, local people are trained in all aspects of biodiversity monitoring. This way, the people living in the most biodiverse areas of Tanzania, can benefit from these areas in ways that support sustainability.

Our team

The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.

The Kumbe team consists of a global network of specialists and advisors across all our service areas, complemented by a dedicated local team working directly on the ground.

Vision

Protect and enhance biodiversity through innovative and transparent monitoring services, provided by indigenous people and local communities

Research indicates that while the world’s 370 million indigenous people comprise less than 5% of the global population, they manage over 25% of the world’s land surface and support 80% of the world’s biodiversity.

At Kumbe, we recognise the resilience of these local communities and support their efforts to conserve biodiversity by offering accessible tools, training, employment, and opportunities for sustainable financing.

Working together with these communities, Kumbe provides services to conservation organisations, helping them obtain accurate, high-quality data to monitor biodiversity trends and enhance conservation efforts. This work is crucial in safeguarding ecosystems from threats like habitat loss, fragmentation, degradation, and overexploitation.
